Mission Complete: Comet Backup at MSP Global 2026

POST

We said going in that there’d be a live demo against a real server, a booth built like mission control, and a €380 LEGO® set on the line. All three held up.

Here’s the debrief from two days at Booth D05.

Your Backup Server Can Talk Now

Adam Wien, WebPros’ Director of Product Management, took that session to the Acronis Accelerate Arena and ran the whole thing live against a real Comet Backup server: triaging overnight failures in plain English, finding every device that missed a backup without writing a query, and drafting a client-ready health report in minutes.

The point for anyone who missed it: MCP is a standard plug that lets an AI assistant use the tools you already run. Nothing retrained on your data, nothing uploaded. Your backup server stays where it is; the assistant just learns to talk to it.

DORA, NIS2, and the Sovereignty Question

Josh Flores, Comet Backup General Manager, and Alexander Pantos, Comet Backup EMEA Sales Lead, joined the panel on European digital sovereignty, alongside Andreas Schober of aconitas, Nikolaos Anagnostopoulos of interworks.cloud, and Maximilian Schuck of Cloudian. They worked through where DORA and NIS2 implementation stands, what sovereign cloud and data residency look like in practice, what a real cloud exit takes beyond the paperwork, and how to price compliance work as a service instead of absorbing it as cost.

The throughline: clients stopped treating this as a future problem, and the MSPs who already have answers are charging for them.

The Question We Heard Most

One question came up more than any other at D05: what’s Comet’s differentiator?

Four answers. Storage-agnostic by design, so you choose the destination and aren’t locked to anyone’s bucket. Per-device pricing you can model against a client contract. White-labeled end to end, so the backup your client sees is yours. And a restore path built for 2am, not for a demo.

Most of those conversations ended with someone asking for a closer look. That’s the part we came for.

Booth D05: Mission Report

“Welcome to Mission Control” went up behind the booth on Wednesday morning. Here’s what the next two days looked like.

And one very lucky winner went home to the United Kingdom with the LEGO® Star Trek™ U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D, pictured with some of the Comet team and a grin that made the whole raffle worth running.

Didn’t Get the Chance to Meet Us?

No problem. Every Comet Backup trial comes with 30 days free, full access, no credit card required: the actual product, pointed at your actual storage.

Or talk to the team and have the conversation you missed in Spain. No slide deck required.

Ground control to every MSP: you’re covered.
