The Real Impact of Encryption on Cloud Backup Speed

Storage prices have been rising across the industry this year. We have some good news: Comet Storage isn’t raising prices for everyone. We’re absorbing the increase from our cloud storage partner, Wasabi, for existing customers and anyone who signs up by the end of this year.
Comet Storage Pricing
- Existing Comet Storage customers: Your rate stays at $6.99/TB/month through January 1, 2028.
- Sign up by Dec. 31, 2026: You’ll also lock in the $6.99/TB/month rate through January 1, 2028. Sign up this year, and your rate stays protected throughout all of 2027.
- Sign up on or after Jan. 1, 2027: The standard rate will be $7.99/TB/month, reflecting the price increase from Wasabi, our cloud storage partner.
- No egress fees or API request fees: These remain included, regardless of your rate.
Predictable pricing is something we care about a lot. That’s why we’re protecting existing customers from this increase and giving new customers the rest of 2026 to lock in today’s rate for all of 2027.
If you’re already a Comet Storage customer, there’s nothing you need to do. If you’re considering Comet Storage, sign up by December 31, 2026, to secure $6.99/TB/month through January 1, 2028.
